Hey guys, it's Jen from OFS.
Cruella de Vil is an iconic Disney villain that everyone loves to hate.
In this tutorial I'm using Dalmation Velboa Faux Fur to recreate her shawl.
So let's get started.
The materials you'll need are: 2 yards of white dalmatian velboa faux fur fabric, a ruler, a tape measure, thread, scissors, 3/4 inch white sew-in velcro, you'll need both hook and loop sides that are sold separately, a hand sewing needle, a fabric marker, and ballpoint pins.
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise with the right sides facing each other.
Take a tape measure and measure around your shoulders to the front where you want the shawl to overlap.
That measurement will be your length.
My length is 60 inches and I want my shawl to be 17 inches wide, So I'm cutting a 60 by 17 inch rectangle in the middle of the folded fabric.
This creates 2 pieces.
Fold both pieces in half and round out the corners.
Unfold the shawl and pin around the edges.
Stitch with a 1/2 inch seam allowance around the shawl.
Leave about a foot open at the end.
Turn the shawl to the right side and poke out the corners.
Fold the open edges inward a 1/2 inch and pin.
Hand stitch the opening shut.
Cut a 3 inch strip of each side of the velcro.
Wrap the shawl around your shoulders and pin where the velcro should meet.
Hand sew each side of the velcro where the sides overlap at the mark.
Double knot and snip the thread.
The shawl is now finished.
This shawl is good for cosplay, halloween costumes, or just to add to your wardrobe.
Thanks for watching this OFS project.
